Default RE: Backfire on deceleration

The local harley dealer said sometime they will put a clamp around the baffle to help with popping at decel if they can't tune it out. Pull your baffle and use a plain old 3" or whatever size clamp (like a hose clamp) that fits around the baffle and close off one set of holes. This will add a little backpressure & might help. Then again too much backpressure and it runs like xhit. I don't know what your baffle looks like but this worked on a friends V&H 2 into 1 pro pipe.

Hey, I lived with my ride popping like that, but kind of thought it sounded hot. Finally got serious with the Forum and found the solution. My bike has the Revtech DFO and it turned out to be a simple matter of adjusting the "Green" pot from 4 to 5. Have put a couple of hundred on the bike since the adjust and what a difference. The guys riding behind used the POP as a 'First Alert' that the old man was slowing down. Now they got to change their riding style.
