LOL, man it's not a real farm if it don't have a pig. I think there's at least a pig, rooster, horse, cow, cat, dog, sheep on a See 'n Say. I must be the only guy with kids, even at 58 I heard that thing about a million times. I think I remember most of them.
Something ya don't see ever day. Like a donkey, alpaca, lamma, goat, mouse, deer,... we have about three game farms with in a few mile of here with deer, elk, red stag, buffalo.
If it feels right to ya, then it counts. I have pretty loose standards, I was just thinking there's already been several farm things.
... and just WTF does THAT have to do with a challenge? Dude, it's ok... we won't judge too harshly.
I was just coming home from the MC - foggy as hell out. I got a LOT closer to some deer than I would ever hope to again. Guess I should have had the camera ready.
Joking aside, I actually locked up the bike passing through 3 big ones (a buck and 2 does) and hit one of the SOB's at about 2 mph. No damage to me, the deer, or the bike, thankfully. Had a very similar deal happen about this time last year - kicked a fawn that made it through the fence and turned parallel to me at the last second. Watch yer asses out there, guys... in the 5 mile ride, I saw 8.
Now, as for the actual challenge - there's a farm nearby that raises Elk. Those big monsters ain't exactically local to here. I'll see if the weather allows a ride out there. Those things are impressive for captive animals in a small pen. Not quite as majestic as the ones all over Colorado, but still - the wingspan on those things is amazing.

Actually white tail deer are the thing I feel most threatened by in my area. Those morons don't have a clue and don't care if they are stepping in front of a car or a bike. I think my chances here are a lot better that I'll hit a deer than about anything else.

Hey, as long as it's a cute deer to each his own. Sorry, couldn't resist.
Wow, this is a tuff crowd. I'm feeling more at home here now.
This is actually a great thread. Gives those 'short' rides a purpose in finding the challenge and recently most have been posting a historical/informational piece about the object photographed. Hope you know my post was strictly in jest.

Yeah, we're good like that. Lots of fun, lots of kidding back and forth.

We took the long way home to swing by this place that has the elk. (The first place we went by has llamas, but they were all in hiding from the rain - couldn't get a decent shot...)
Anyway, don't really have a story, per se, but it was a good reason to ride the extra 20 miles or so.
UDDERLY different. Actually, a female elk is called a cow, and a male is a bull, so you're on the mark.
So... next up, how about going back to the Gothic stuff... being October and all - someone's bound to have a gargoyle. Gargoyles kick butt. That, or an undead garden gnome. I find them to be hilarious. Yeah, I'm a bit twisted, but hey... gotta love me!
Glasses (or a pint of O-neg) on the seat!
