I agree that it's should be up to the person making the challenge as to what's acceptable.

I can understand your point and I even agree with you, but your "stagnant" comment caught my attention, mainly because that's the second time someone said that recently.

Wow, you guys are impatient...

The first time I heard "stagnant" was ten days ago, right after three challenges were met in quick succession, and only two days after that current one was made.

Just three days ago, there were four challenges met within 7 hours.
The challenge we have now is only three days old, and the original rules called for five days.

For the most part things move pretty fast around here.
In fact, you gotta be quick or you'll miss challenges completely.
Besides, what's the point of issuing challenges if they'e not challenging?
..amiright...?

Challenging is one thing but some of these are so obscure that no-one even tries. The purpose of this is to get people out riding share great experiences. But if challenges are so unique that there is only small percentage that can even try well...........that is what ends up being 5 days no solution. If you have only seen something once in your life in your home town chances are rest of us aren't gonna get it and lose interest in contest. It would be nice to see some new winners once in awhile.

I agree. Was out for 250 miles yesterday and never even looked for the ball challenge. I thought it was long gone since most are back yard challenges and move so quick that by the time I get home, download the pic its 3 challenges old.

The Dyna challange is suggesting two challenges to keep things moving.

I agree with this too, which is why I think we ought to try to stick with destinations instead of just everyday objects...
hell, I won two challenges I think with items found in my back yard... the tire swing was one.

I agree. Nobody is intentionally putting out impossibles. Unmet challenge - old bike. Unmet challenge - Wall Drug sign. Neither of these was impossible. The old bike should have been fairly easy, but nobody had luck. The Wall Drug sign? Hell, EVERY example I posted up as acceptable was HOME MADE by someone. ANYONE could have done the same, thinking out of the box. I've seen signs, bumper stickers, etc. everywhere I have ever been, within the US, and I've covered 2/3 of the country. I see them all over the place here - found another one the other day, in a bar/restaurant in town here. I figured the drive-in movie theater would be a couple of days, but was met quickly. Figured the hot air balloon would also be near impossible, but again, fairly quickly.

This golf ball isn't unique to a place in the nation. I certainly remember seeing them out and about as a kid, whenever we'd go camping - they're not uncommon at mini-golf courses, or, at least, they didn't used to be.

Here's one in Callaway, FL:

This one is in Madison, but it's an inside mini-golf. I have, however, seen similar "obstacles" on mini holes before.

This one is up in the WI Dells:

This one in Kissimmee, FL

This one in Newark:

This one is from some place called Gold Coast:

Not really impatient. I like it when the game moves fast. But not so fast that you have to spend more time following it on your phone than actually riding. If a challenge was a local McDonalds, the trick would be the first one to get the pic and get it posted. That makes it a competition not a challenge. And a lot of guys would say screw it because they want to enjoy the ride, not race back to their computers. On the other side, if it was a Studebaker Avanti because you know of a couple, that doesn't mean that there are any near the rest of us.

So it isn't a matter of impatience in waiting the 5 days out but more of a "well that sucks because I'm out of this one for (up to) 5 days". Also, just because there are pictures on the interweb doesn't mean they exist in great numbers. Those giant golf ball pictures included some inside(?) and one in Australia. I've been to all 50 states and can't for the life of me remember seeing any. Doesn't mean they aren't out there but for me, I'm out. And that in it's self sucks because I'm sitting here talking about giant golf *****. I have a cold but sunny day (the first one in over 2 weeks - flooding in Colorado and all) and I could be completing a challenge but now am going to say screw it and go ride, because I cannot complete this challenge. Then, I'll watch from the computer at work all week and hope that I might be able to participate next weekend.

So, since this game is ever evolving and has no one person in charge, it really sucks when it sits a long time (stagnant) for us 9-5 weekend warriors who have to wait for the stars of opportunity/weather/and the right challenge for our area, to align. If I didn't work during the day and was single, I'd be kicking *** on this game. Since I don't, I can only hope that it stays fluid and doesn't slow to a crawl and everybody quits giving a **** resulting in the same few people playing/winning.

Couldn't have said it better Yzergod.
Back to work tomorrow and was hoping to have a purpose in my ride today.

Well, I sure as hell didn't post a photo of all of 'em, just a sampling of what it took me 3 minutes to find on a quick google search. They're certainly more prevalent than an NFL stadium...

Why don't we do as was suggested a few posts back, and run two concurrent challenges? Easy enough to do, and makes it more probable that there's "something for everyone" here.

I'm out of this one, too (or out of BOTH if we do two)... may well be out for the week due to schedule, and that's cool.

I agree & don't have any beef with you Rag or the challenge. Having different and unique challenges keeps it fresh. Some things are easier to find in certain regions (i.e. cheese in Wisconsin). I have 2 puny golf courses near me & 1 is on a farmer's field. I rode past over 100 Wall Drug signs on my trip but was on my Road Glide, so I was out on that one. I know there are 1000s of pics online of the Wall Drug signs too, but there are none within riding distance of me. My point (using the pics as an example only - not a gripe) is that I could throw up a challenge and a ton of pics of a barefoot dreadlock hippy chick (of which my town is crawling with) and in your part of the country might be impossible to find.

I think we need more participants to have two challenges at the same time.
