FatBoyLo Tach
OK, long post so bear with me. For those of us with newer FatBoys/SofTails you gotta agree that Harley-Davidsons idea of a tachometer is about as lame as it gets. How really useful is that stupid little digital readout that is sitting practically in your lap! So, I decide that what the bike really needs is a 3 3/4" Autometer/Pro Cycle Tach mounted to the handlebar riser caps. Got the Tach, no problem. Now comes the mounting issue...apparently it's a hugh problem. The Autometer/Pro Cycle web site sends you to two companies for mounting options, Yankee Engineuity or Cycle Performance. The guys at Yankee are idiots. As far as they are concerned, they don't understand what i'm trying to do, don't have the parts, and really aren't interested in seeing if what they do manufacture could be made to work. The guys at Cycle performance seemed to have the foggiest idea of what i needed, suggested mounting that was actually for Kawasaki applications and sent that right out. Wrong! It does not come close to being workable.
It's seemingly a simple project. Mount a tachometer to the forward riser cap bolts (or get a riser cap block/bracket combination). If anyone has any suggestions or leads i'd sure like to hear it.
Thanks Guys

Like Misbehaven, I went with a HD dual speedo/tach combination. Mine is slightly different than Mibehaens though. My tach needle is on the same display but below the speedo needle. I really like this set up, I see everything with just a quick glance.
