thx for reply. As far as horsepower is concerned ... from the 09 to the new 103 cu inch engine would i notice it a great deal ? i am 6 ft 205 and my wife is 5 '6 130.
thx again.
Glenn
I bought a '13 last Sept. and haven't had any issues with the bike. My wife and I love it. I rode 09, '10, '11 used bikes before buying my '13. There is a noticeable difference in power but it wasn't substantial enough (for my tastes) to sway my decision. For me, owning a new bike with full warranty was important. I don't think you'd be disappointed with a 96 motor. The Heritage is a great bike, touring capable but still tossable and fun on the twisties.
I have the 2011 model; no issues. My wife and I are about the same size as y'all, no problems going two-up; although I have changed the cam, ECM, intake and exhaust to to bump the performance a bit.
'08 here and have had it on a couple of 10 day road trips. Bought it new. I'm 'bout 230 and wife 'bout 150 and no issues as far as power. Piled it up high with luggage. Just wanted a touring bike. Still have the FLSTC but getting pressure from the wife to divest myself of it.
We Loved ours since day 1.. now 6yrs and 42 K later, we still do.
Only once has she given me a problem, a pin hole in the gas line at 33k, Not unuasual for bikes that use Ethanol gas and those who put in fuel stabilizer in the winter.
Other than that I've only done the usual Maintenance, tires, brakes, oils, filter, and grease and lube..
Oh I did have to replace the Battery at 5yrs last spring.
In short she's been the best one of all the bikes I've owned, great for week long trips or just short ones.. and the wife is on the back 90% of the time.
thanks to everyone for your feedback. seems to me there's alot of happy HSC lovers out there ! I am looking in Fargo as it is $2000 cheaper than here North of the border {like every damn thing } . Today i saw an ad on craigslist 2012 HSC 32 miles ...yes that's right 32 miles fro $ 16500 Crazy !! but the owner doesnt have title documents just MOA and cant understand why i would need that ! I am very skeptical at this point !
Thanks again.
Glenn
Can someone explain to me the painful or painless process involved in purchasing a HSC in Fargo and bringin it back across into Canada?
I have a friend who paid CASH and said no real problems. Another who had to change his speedometer to a metric one and another who didnt have to change speedo.
Thanks again.

And look what you can do to it if you want , I can still put on the ole windshield if I wanted to . Heritage always gave me a better ride. Im down and in the bike instead of on top of it

Sweet!
How does it handle with all the extra weight . Hell it looks like you have to be 6 ft 5 to see over that shield ?
Very cool .
thx
