Turn Signal Issues, help please
Guys-
Haven't had this bike for long but its an 01 deuce. Has led lights in the front signals and rear signals. I had a rear light go out, so I replaced with regular bulbs as that was all that could be found. I can't find the specific bulb anymore, so ordered some led ones from JP cycles. Question is now, when I turn on my signals they blink like 3-4 times then go real fast blinking. I'm not sure what is happening or why this would do this.
The bulb is a 1156 led type bulb. I tried some 1157's but didn't seem to work. I'd like to see the rear turn signals on all the time, but I'm not sure if that's possible?
Anyways, what is going on here or what do I need? I've read a few things about installing some type of electrical programmer type thing that will put a "load" on the system so led's work....but I'm not sure why they worked before but aren't now. If I do need one of those maybe someone can suggest a good, and easy to install one. I don't have much if any room under the seat to install, so I'd like something easy an small.

Older models like our 01's need load equalizers for the led lights to function properly.
I suggest if u don't want to deal with extra cost, and possibly some wiring headaches,
to just put oem type bulbs that came with the bike oiginally.

You can purchase an "electronic" unit that will fix your fast blinking.

If you decide to keep the leds, then you would need a led light controller or harness adapter
that has provisions for attaching a load equalizer.
You can do a search for kuryakyn, custom dynamics or badlands to name a few.

LED Setup
I've been real happy with my Custom Dynamics setup. I added the load equalizer and Smart Triple Play which allows the rear turn signals to synch Run, Brake, & Turn. It's all plug and play. I've been running this for a year with no issues.
