Default I Never Knew My Elbows Were So Sexy....

...until I flipped my mirrors. Now all I can see is the bottom of my forearms. Can't see anything behind me at all. Kinda defeats the purpose of mirrors.

I'm running 12" apes with stock FLS mirrors flipped under. For those of you running apes with mirrors under the bars, what's the best setup?

(FYI - the picture below is obviously before I flipped them)

I couldn't find one with 14" bars. I am guessing that maybe with 18" bars you can flip your mirrors and see them.

HD or Kuryakyn mirror stem extenders do wonders, check them out. Was running 18" apes on my heritage and decided the mickey mouse ears needed to go, so I flipped them but couldn't see very well. Looks great though, cleans up the top end of the bars when running high apes. Tried the extenders and it did the trick.

I only have 1 mirror (left and its flipped)

I live in "the country" so most of my riding is highway so I tend to ride a lot with one hand - therefore I can see out of it no problem.

In the city just lift your arm every now and then to get a quick look and more shoulder checks.

Also adjust it while you are riding down a straight road to get it in the best possible position.

Mine are in the normal mounting position.
When I installed my bars, I flipped them and saw I couldn't see anything.

Since my bars are inline with the forks I sit straight up and don't need to do the cafe racer one arm rest on the tank.

I have 16" bars and love how well I can see. When wearing a loose jacket makes it hard to see behind me. In a tee I can see everything behind me.

Play around with the mirror. Push the arm a little further forward and then adjust the mirror. It takes a whole lot of fine tuning to get them just right.

I run the Ness mini ovals, under mounted, haven't had any issues. Yeah, I can see my arms a little, but doesn't really bother me. Quick lift of the arm and all is good. Might help that I'm not running the control pods, and my mirrors are mounted to individual brackets that can be rotated around the bar and moved inboard or outboard for a better angle.
