Thanks guys I ordered one for both my flhtp and wifes Heritage. Doesn't look like the 89 Heritage seat changed any from the newer ones so also passed that info onto the owner Lonnie.

Gawd, the few times I've rode with my stock seat and no rear pillion, I damn near would slide off the bike every time I gunned it. Back rest is definitely in order for her.

+1 on the grasshopper, I eventually swapped out the seat for a solo Ultimate Seat.
I never ride without the back rest.

I've been interested in a back rest too...I'll have to give the grasshopper folks a call. I always slide back a bit too far with my solo set up.

I noticed their website has different styles if riding with or without a passenger pillion seat...I wonder what the difference could be?

Kinda' confusing...

When I purchased mine, there was only one version for Softails; you could get it studded or plain. The one I have also works with the passenger seat installed.
