I ordered the 70900100B from New Castle. I guess it's normal and I'm just catching up but when I looked around everybody quoted the price shown on the HD site and wouldn't deal at all. New Castle had it advertised for $247 with no tax thru their website. Called my local dealer who wanted $314 plus tax and told him about the New Castle price which he could verify and he still wouldn't deal. Told him to send his back to the warehouse that I would wait 3 days for it via UPS. I'm thinking New Castle will be getting most my mod $'s

Can't wait to get it installed.

That's pretty much the deal. Go through a regular dealer and you get the standard price. New Castle and a couple other online parts stores have 10% to 20% off for using their online services. I've tried walking into New Castle and ordering there, and at the parts counter, it's full price. Go out to the parking lot and order online (via the web on your smart phone) and you get the 20% deal.

Same here, got mine about a month ago and just love it. Display is so easy to read and everything is right there plus the colors are awesome to play with.

What's the difference in 70900100A and 70900100B? Will only the B version work with the breakout?

AFAIK the B version replaces the A version which is outdated. You will probably not be able to order the A version any more. Sometimes there are no technical differences at all between A and B but changes to the packaging the item comes with.

So I was just about to order this gauge myself and was looking up part# 70900100B on Surdyke Harley to get a price and it says it's now superseded by part# 70900100C . What gives? Is "C" still the same thing as the "B" version?

Yep. Should be so. As long as the main p/n is the same it's just an updated item with a new p/n extension for the new parts catalog. If you want to double-check take a look at the fitment info on the Harley web site. There it says fits FXSB.

I was looking at the Dakota Digital version for an OEM tank mounted unit for my 02 Softail. Does HD make one for something as old as an 02 or is this a handlebar mounted unit only? Just curious.

I have the Dakota Digital on my Breakout and rate it highly. I've got the HD one on my Slim but really do prefer the Dakota unit. Not as many pretty colours as the HD unit but you get more information and whilst I don't use half of it most the time it's nice to have it there... I don't remember for sure but I think it was cheaper as well - could be wrong though.
