Ive been using Redline products in my cars, van, h2, yj jeep, Quads, HDs and MX bikes for years with great results.
2 Infiniti, M45 and G37s both over 125,000 hard driven miles and 4 other cars and vans , Kawasaki MX bikes and a Quad all used frequently and no lubrication related problems using Redline products.
4 Hds (Sporty, RKC, Fatboy and RG) over 150,000 miles with Redline in all holes
On the HD big twin I usually buy a Power Pack and replace all fluids every 5000
I like red line but not in the tranny. I used to use the soundproof till a buddy had a tranny failure and the tranny bearings were packed full of the suspended material...I then checked my bottle in the garage...it has no ratings or certification on it at all, none. It also does not say it will not void your warranty. My mechanic says the soundproof is really for racing not every day use...read your bottle, then decide.
Being a new Harley owner, I've done a lot of reading about various fluids for various functions on the bike,
I went out and purchased some Redline Heavy for the trans.....but this exact thought has been running through my mind since I bought it. If it's "liquid grease" as it's described and it sticks to the gears as well as I've been lead to believe....that's good AND bad ! How would you ever be able to drain any particles of worn gear metals if it's going to stick to the gears and is "liquid grease" as is claimed ?
Does anyone have any thoughts on this before I install (or not) this stuff ?
