Seriously, mine used to read full all the time, so
I thought the float was stuck. I opened the efi tank cover to check
and float was bobbing up and down normally.
So I switched to a harley led fuel tauge kit, problem solved
IMHO, stock fuel gauge are hit or miss.
I'd go without the fuel cap level gauge - if I go this route, do I order two of the flush filler caps ?
Do you have a combination speedo/tach with a fuel level indicator? If not, are you saying that you would go without a fuel gauge? If so you would have to go by mileage.
You can buy the filler caps individually so, yes, you would have to buy two of them.
I just got the FB 7-9 . I got the 2 year warranty (I found out later) and I was just looking over the
service agreement and it says it covers all instrumentation
and electrical.
We'll see Tuesday what they have to say about that.
Mine is fuel injected. The float for fuel gauge sender unit is inside the tank, same as carb bikes I believe.
A lot of times the float get stuck, and gives false readings. In my case the float was moving with the level of fuel, so the oem fuel gauge was bad.
I replaced it with the HD black flush-mount led fuel gauge and cap kit. I really like it so far. Install was not bad either.
