What do you think about a fuel gauge that sticks at 3/4 of a tank and then empty?
A candidate for switching to a led fuel gauge kit
Seriously, mine used to read full all the time, so
I thought the float was stuck. I opened the efi tank cover to check
and float was bobbing up and down normally.
So I switched to a harley led fuel tauge kit, problem solved
IMHO, stock fuel gauge are hit or miss.
My stock gauge would move to the "E" mark with loads of fuel still in the tank.
I just installed the 70900070A COMBO ANALOG SPEEDO/TACH-5”MPH and it's fuel gauge is far more accurate, with the stock original fuel level sender unit.

Agreed. I'm seeing the same thing.
When my tank gauge needle approaches empty, the LED gauge says there's still nearly a half tank left.
And by the amount needed to top it off, it just confirms it.
Another option is to consider the flush mount fuel cap and gauge kit. It has a very clean look. I have found that the fuel level of the cap corresponds well to that of the analog speedo/tach.

Mine reads nearly empty when the tank is still half full. I ignore it and go by the trip odometer. I plan to get the new speedo/tach combo one day here.

I like the look of that !
I'd go without the fuel cap level gauge - if I go this route, do I order two of the flush filler caps ?
