Default Sound on an 01 Heritage

I'm looking for a way to add music on to my 01 Heritage Classic. I don't want to go with the handlebar mount radio that HD offers. I was wondering if anyone has done this and how involved it is. I was thinking possibly an I-Pod mount. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We're planning a WY and MT ride this summer. We did SD from IL two years ago and that's a long way to go singing to yourself.

Wife had a 2001 Heritage and she tried a protableCD player with ear phones, and then an I-Pod with noise cancelling, volume control Phillips ear buds.

Her final solution was a 2007 Street Glide that she has added a Pioneer Inno XM Radio/mp3 player to.

In all seriousness, she never found a real good solution to having music on the Heritage without the handlebar stereo, and like you, she didn't want to do that.

You might try the Pioneer Inno. It is a combination MP3 player and XM radio with it's own antenna and battery. You still have to use ear buds, but it is a bit better setup than just an I-Pod or portable CD player.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Bill

I appreciate the idea. Funny thing is I've been looking at the Street Glide myself. Any suggestions of where to look for the Pioneer Inno?

Wife got her's a Wally World. Best Buy has them, and we found out they are a little cheaper there. You can also find them on line. These can be used in the house or through your car stereo with the proper car kit,so they are pretty pratical. For the bike, Phillips makes a set of ear buds that are powered, and have noise cancelling and volume control so you don't have to use the volume control on the Inno.

Regards,

Bill

yes im going with that kind of setup , but ill probably put a small piece of velcro right at the area where seat meets tank on the leather and put it there , or in my bags so i just have the lil chrome speakers on the front looks real clean , and they are plenty loud , now i just got to see if im gonna be keeping my bike , which the way its looking i am
