Default Rush exhaust sux

So I put the rush exhaust short slash on my '10 crossbones.. along w a power commander & had it dyno'd. They SUCK.. first off you cant change out the 1.5" baffles to any other.. second the powder coat didn't even hold up for my Sturgis trip... third, the guarantee 6hp.. I call bullsh!t.. had it dyno'd w PC and didnt get 6hp... First bit of $$ I scrape together I'm getting rid of this junk a$$ exhaust.. total garbage in my opinion.. I will never buy Rush products again or recommend 'em. total crapola. I shoulda spent another $100 & got the Vance & Hines

Funny,
My story is the exact opposite. I had nothing but problems from Vance and Hines so I switched to Rush products. Been using them on my past three bikes and absolutely love them. Great quality, great price, and great customer service.
Rush is the shiznit and I recommend them any chance I get.

You buy the quietest one and expect more noise? Sounds like you should have went with 1.75 or larger and a good air cleaner. Then you would see some more power. I buy new pipes for noise not a couple of hp.

After a few sets of V&H rusting out after a year I switched to Rush and could not be happier about. As for me I don't race bikes so a little gain in HP don't mean much to me. I like the sound and the fact that they are ceramic coated inside and out. Their customer service is the best I have seen.

I've had Rush exhausts slip-ons and full systems on two Harleys I've owned and think nothing but the best about their products and their customer service. For treating customers fairly and with a high sense of urgency, nobody does it better. I have their 2:1 system now and love it.

Before expressing a negative opinion on a Forum and giving a good company a bad rumor to deal with, give their customer service department a call first to explain your situation. After that, I think your opinion will be very different.

Don't know why you think the baffles can't be changed.

Love my Rush product.

Double post. Never received a response on the original thread. Since the power is not there and now the coating is failing, it could be a tuning issue. More information is required to determine that. Please contact me if you would like any assistance.

Original reply from Rush:
Thanks for choosing Rush! The 1.50" baffle is required for back pressure. We don't recommend removing them and performance will suffer. We recommend the crossover system or 2 into 1 for customers looking for large performance gains. Most shorts systems are designed for sound and appearance with performance limits due to the lack of back pressure from the short pipes.

With that being said we want happy customers with all of our systems. What was the hp before and after upgrades? What were you expecting to achieve?
I assume the tune is good and we can eliminate that from troubleshooting.

It could be just the nature of short systems but I would like to work with you to make sure the system is providing maximum performance increases. Please let me know any information that could assist, such as engine upgrades or high flow air filter.

Badpig, those are some harsh words... Seems that Ryan at Rush is willing to help if you give them a chance. His post above seems very reasonable, professional, and sincere. Not taking anyone's side as I don't even have Rush products to speak on behalf of.
Keep in mind that not every bike is going to perform exactly the same. We purchase different air cleaners, different programmers, even different fuel... crappy ethanol percentages differ throughout the country regardless of what they tell us about it only being 10%!
Anyway, give the company a chance to help and then let us know how it all turns out. You may still be unhappy with the product but I for one have purchased numerous products that didn't work out exactly like I had hoped... trial & error bro.

I give credit where credit is due. Rush has kooodoooos credit in my opinion. Nope I have never had a single Rush product so I could not comment on their product. What I give them kooodooos on is the above comment by Ryan of Rush Racing Products. To come on an open forum and try to resolve this in the Professional manner as he has just done deserves credit. I believe every vendor should take notes and be as Professional as Ryan has been.
