My Deluxe has its seat fixing on the fender at the rear of the seat, but I have several other seat to choose from, but not yet fitted.
Some of these seat fix to the frame either side of the seat just underneath it.
Question is, does anyone know the thread size of these holes, I saw these seat fixings on Ebay, which are Chrome and have a little toggle on them, making it easier to use, (and steal probably) but I still want them, they come in 2 different thread pitch's UNF or UNC, anyone help, my bike is a 07 Deluxe.
This is one of them, but like I said they sell 2 different sizes http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...:X:RTQ:GB:1123
It's 2:30 in the morning here at work so I don't know if I am bonkers as bat **** here or if it's your from the U.K. and I don't understand the lingo here but what do you mean the "Seat fixings"? I will throw this guess out there but no idea if I am right or not. Do you mean how does the seat bolt to the fender or the frame? At this pont I see that 55 people opened and read this post but no comments so I am wondering if everyone else is scratching their heads over this question too.
Must be from uk. Unc is coarse thread and unf is fine thread. Yeah the fixing I think he means is the bolts that fix(hold) the seat to the bike. I think mine are coarse thread. I'm at work too. You should be able to tell by taking one off and looking at the threads if its coarse or fine. I'm probably not a lot of help.
Thanks for the replies guys Tbone Sorry if I confused people, the std Deluxe seat fixes at the rear of the seat with 2 thumbscrew nuts.
The seats that I want to make use of fix onto the frame underneath the seat.
QC .. you have said they are 1/2, I''m not 100% , but I'd say theres no way they could be 1/2 , maybe 1/2 .. 13mm spanner size but not thread size,
so has anyone fitted a different seat to their Deluxe using these fixings?
