question bout badlander seat

Default question bout badlander seat
bought a new badlander seat for my 07 deluxe and says it works but its half inch too short and doesnt fit in the frame right harley dealer tryin to tell me i need a bracket extension that harley sells. but idont think so... any input on this matter would be appericated... thank you...

part number is 5292-00A

Fits '00-later FLST (except FLSTSE/2/3), FLSTC, FLSTSC, '00-'06 FLSTF, '00-'05 FX Softail models (except FXSTD). Also fits FLSTN and FLSTNSE models with removal of stock luggage rack. Seat width 12.0"; passenger pillion width 6.5".

I'm pretty sure that's the seat that I have installed on my fatboy with a stretched tank on it.

cant understand why it says it will fit o7 deluxe????? and it doesnt... totally confused...

I am curious about this same issue....
I have a 1997 FLSTF and want to put on a Badlander on it and I am curious as to what constitutes a fit or not fit.

The fitment guides are not always accurate.

I bought a used Danny Gray seat that came off of a 2009 Crossbones thinking I could make it work on my 01 Softail. Could not make it fit at all, which is odd, since I also had a 2014 Heritage seat that fit fine., My reading tells me that the year changes are 00-06 and 2007-present. I believe it has something to do with seats that fit the contour of the frame.

That is weird, My wife had a 2008 Deluxe and for some crazy reason she just had to put a Badlander on it and there wasn't any fitment issues with her bike.
