Citoriplus is right...the SilverStars are excellent bulbs! An inexpensive alternative to changing the headlight assembly. A clean, whiter light for sure over the OEM bulb assembly.

I just installed the HD dual bulb headlight assembly (HD PN 67864-04) on my Fat Boy when I installed the "Bull" headlight nacelle kit. I paired that up with a set of halogen aux lights (HD PN 68208-98A). Buddy...I have some lighting! They really make a huge difference!

And as always...I got it all at Zanotti!

Good luck...

Steve

I'll add another vote for the SilverStar bulbs. I put one in, and it made a HUGE difference, especially when I'm riding where there is little or no lighting.

Cheers!

Boy Steve, would I like to do that. I'm finding just how empty a billfold can be when you start on Harley parts. Seems like everything I do makes it impossible to do the next. Can usethe samewindshield with the new lightbrackets? I am going to do something about lighting though. Clothes and chrome are nice but this is a life safety issue.

fbhawg...the Harley-Davidson 'addiction' (as my wife puts it) is a serious issue! You want to do something, and then you find out that you should (or must) do three other things! Talk about $$$! Oh well...I admit I'm hooked butI'm NOT ready to go to a 12-step program for a cure! HD has the best damn marketing team in the free world!

But when you need parts...be sure to go to Zanotti! Best prices and very quick service by far!

Hi...my name's Steve and I'm a Harley-Davidson accessories addict!

Good luck, buddy!

Crusher, no! The headlight is rubber mounted, and it just likes to bounce around. I got used to it on my Softail, but when I am behind my GF, it drives her nuts! (well maybe a little more than normal LOL) So, I think its a good saftey item.

The SilverStar bulbs are a lot brighter and do expand your night view. Just my .02

A little off the subject here but how do I get my Deuce headlight to stop shaking or is this impossible and I have to live with it?
I don't think its unusual, my Custom seems to be aflicted with the same malady.
I tried to tighten it up, but because its mounted in soft rubber I don't think its ever going to get tight enough.
I console myself with the though that if it was more solidly mounted, the vibration wouldprobably meanchanging bulbs every other week.

Same with my bike......bouncing headlight beam......tightened it but still can't shake the shakin'....I console myself by looking at it as an added safety feature......hard to miss at night......now as long as John L. Law feels the same I'll be fine!!!!!

I've read that the SilverStar's installed on a bike burn out pretty quick. Has anyone that has gone to these bulbs, had that experience? Or has Sylvania improved their quality and what I am asking is old news?

I use the PIAA XTreme White Plus Anti-Vibration bulb (PN 70456) in my Fat Boy's headlamp. As the name implies, they are an anti-vibration bulb built specifically to take the abuse/vibrations that motorcycles dish out and they project a very bright, very white beam of light. They cost $50, but are worth every penny because of their long life and superior lighting. Though they only draw the electricity of a normal 60W/55W bulb, they produce the lighting equivalent of a 110W/100W! These are real motorcycle headlamp bulbs, not just upgraded car bulbs.
