Default Breakout fell over from kick stand

Watch out the jiffy stand on my Breakout did not lock in place. I was just cleaning it some sitting on level ground in my hangar and over it went.

When it fell over bars banged into gas tank and chipped the paint.

Any thoughts on how to repair 1/4 inch chip in paint. Can somebody really fix like new or should I turn into ins for a new tank?

I can't tell from your picture is that gloss or denim? A good paint guy should be able to look at it and tell you. That way he can give you quote either way if you have to make an insurance claim.

There may be a liability issue, reportedly the Breakout kickstand has a design flaw, several reports of this happening, even at the dealer show.

I'll be surprised if Harley does anything about it though.........even with the video which is hysterical btw.

My fingers are crossed that they address it however. Sorry to hear about the damage btw.

Sorry to hear that! I have been a little unsure of mine too, I had one hiccup with mine but I still had ahold of it! interesting to say the least. I would bet the safest route would be through the insurance co.

I can not believe the level of disrespect and disregard or customer care at Harley. I called them and told them about kick stand not locking. My dealer also called and they told dealer bike not defective even before I got the bike to dealer for inspection. I have bought over 20 new Harleys in past 12 years. This level of service is so unacceptable. My dealer was also enraged by situation with Harley. My dealer is paying for all the repairs as to not lose me as one of their best customers. Happy they are but so mad at Harley might never purchase again. Everybody at my dealer treated me great. So sad factory just collects money with zero regard for customer care.

Now the big question is, what are you going to do to it to prevent this from happening again?
