My wife loves it when I tell her "Just grab this and hold it steady" while I lifted the rear off first.
I had this happen to me with the cheaper Harbor Freight jack and an old rigid Triumph a few years back. Luckily, it was light enough, I just picked the thing off the jack. I am in a market for a jack for my Heritage so this thread is helpful!

Man I have no idea where to find one of those, not bad looking. My stand is built on the same concept. Anyone or should I say most of us can build one or has a buddy with a welder that can. Mine is made out of 3" 11ga square tubing, the open part of the "U" is like a half an inch wider than the width of my yellow jack, that way when you have it lifted to the highest position you simply slide the stand under the bike, then slowly release the jack so the bike rests on top of the stand. Once it is there no way it is coming off, or not by any accident! You can sit on top of the bike while it is resting on the stand!

When doing time consuming mods and you bike may be out of commission for a couple days, no worrys, it wont go anywhere if its on top of that stand either. Occasionally I like to place my bike up on the stand while I give her a good washing, also makes it a lot easier to inspect things like tires, clean rims, do oil changes...............

I will see if I can post a picture of my home built stand sometime.
Now you guys that have the bank and room for an actual motorcycle lift I envy you, and would agree that it would be the best way to go. But for us poor boys, who have limited room and funds, make sure you get/build a jack stand.

Pepsx is crazy to charge $135 plus shipping, for that I'll build my own or have a local wielding shop do it.

Thanks for the link though. It gives me a template to reference to.

I know, it is a quality product though, powdercoated and all.
But I also understand the $$$$$$
Here is a pic of mine

Got one of those "snazy" tool organizers attached to the end of it as well. They can be found at a local Ace Hardware for around $5, and worth it to.
Good luck man!!!!!!!!

If you price out the powdercoating you may find that the asking price is not all that bad.

No offense but the only need is for a stand that's been sprayed with some Rustolem paint, has two rubber cushions on top and is strong enough to hold up 900 .lbs.

I could care less if it's powder coated or not. I'm not interested in aesthetics, I'm only interested in function.

However seeing that I can't seem to find one similar to the pepsx I guess they can ask what they want. That of course doesn't mean I have to buy it.

Anyway, thanks for the tip.

Absolutely. I agree with you on just using some good old Rustoleum, thats how mine was painted, had it for quite some time now.
Good Luck Amigo!!!!!
