Touring to Softail
Noticed a lot of post's on Touring to Softail - thought I'd add my thoughts
I picked up a low mileage 2008 FXSTC a week ago. I've put 500+ miles on it since I picked it up. Really enjoy the ride and the sound. I do not ride long distance any longer so I thought I'd go back to a Softail. It had only 4500 miles on it when I got it....
I previously had a 2010 Road King and a 2009 VRod. Both were very nice bikes - but I got to the point where I did not enjoy the heaviness of the RK
or the blinding speed of the VRod.
So I got rid of them and picked up this beauty....no windshield - no bags
V&H big shots - great sound! And low and behold riding is fun again.

Agreed! Life is far too short. Enjoy it while you can.
Nice ride! I love my Softie. Just like yours, no windshield, bags or electronics. Just a basic motorcycle. It's what I call riding in it's pure form. Touring bikes are too heavy and complicated for me. Mine has less to go wrong and I like it that way. Enjoy!
