Default Turn signal control question

I have an '88 Softail Custom. Currently the turn signal buttons have to be pressed and held to continue to flash while turning. once I let go they stop. Is there any way to change this to only have to press them button once, or press it a second time to turn them off?

If there is a turn signal control module on your ride, That may need to be replaced.

There isn't one that I know of. Just a 12V flasher

Check the TSM(turn signal module). I have an '87 FXR and once I let go of the button, it flashes 10 times, then turns it self off. I'm pretty sure thats the only cancelling that the '80's models had.

My shop manual, doesn't mention anything about the TSM. I've been through the wiring, and I know where the flasher and the circuit breakers are (under the dash). So any pointers would be helpful.

Well I would have to think something else is causing this. I wouldn't think both switches would go bad at the same time.
P.S. I'm not "sir". That was my father. Had to turn and to see if he came back from the dead.
