Default Can the Shotgun Shock actually save you $ ?

So tonight I am out for a nice evening cruise on the highway - rollin almost completely slammed - just as I am pulling into another small town south of me I get hit with the burps and cherries (same spot I got a handle bar height ticket in spring)

Pull over in parking lot - cop walks up, I remove helmet and shades and he asks me if I know why I have been pulled over? I said "for looking to good" lol (really did say that) but with a smile. He chuckles and says nice try but he believes my bars are above my shoulder.
I tell him I got a ticket for that same thing in spring and have since got shorter bars so I know they are not, it's just because I just slouch when I ride and it just appears that way. He says we will see in a minute and tells me to wait and he will be back with his measuring device (silly little pole some of them keep in their trunk)
He walks back to his car and is fcking around in the trunk.....at the same time, I hit the switches and raise up ^^ He comes back tells me to sit upright nice and straight and he will take a quick comparison - shoulders / hands on bars. To his amazement my hands were actually slightly lower than my shoulders. He said I guess my slouching really did play tricks on his eyes and told me I was okay to leave and actually apologized for stopping me etc.. enjoy my evening and watch out for deer.

So.........now that you have read my mini novel. The answer is YES!! In the right circumstance the Shotgun Shock can save you $$

haha

Wait, how does raising the bike raise your riding position in comparison to the bars? Lol

Cool story none the less.

In anticipation of going to the next Sturgis I did the same test on myself. Slammed, shoulders lower then the bars. Air it up, shoulders slightly above the bars. baddabing, baddaboom!!!

I believe the SS will cost you more money in the long run. Now I don't try to dodge everything in the road so I'm sure my tires will wear out faster lol.

Curious as to why you call them hydraulics? That's a completely different system. I wish they made hydraulics for Harley's
