Default Fatboy lo

Hi,

I am thinking of buying a fatboy lo. I found a used one 2013 model stock for 14,995 in a local dealer in Orlando, and he told me that it was in their rental fleet.

should i be worried about the fact that it was a rental bike? Any advice?

btw, i will be shipping it to Dubai.

I'm thinking rental bikes are raged on bikes.
Pay the extra couple of grand for a new one, or find another one.

I think Rentals get more "mechanic time" , oil checked more often, bolts tightened more, etc. but maybe I'm wrong.

What exactly is a Fatboy Lo? Is it just lowered?

They used to be lowered by about 1" compared to the regular fatboy. Not sure if that's still the case or not. Apart from that, it's mainly the black paint and satin finish versus chrome on the regular. Older fatboy los had different handlebars to the regulars, but I think pretty much all that has been brought in line now.

As long as it has been maintain properly and they give you paper work proving it has been maintain properly than it should be fine. Since it is a 2013 it will still be under warranty.

I believe that there are some Fatboy Los in the Ocala, Tampa, Crystal River circuit. I would just make a drive over to the west coast and grab ya a newer one with less miles that has not been abused for about the same price.

Have not known Orlando to really be all that amazing on prices.

Here is my two cents on purchasing a rental...you have no idea how they were broke in so you have to assume they were driven like they were stolen. From the minute they were put into service, they may or may not have been driven by people that didn't take care of them as you would have; in my personal opinion, it is worth the little bit of money to find one either used from another source or new. As for the differences between the Lo and the regular, just hop on HD.com and compare them side by side, they are minimal, mostly in seat height. Good luck.

Get the OTD (out the door including tax, freight, and any fees) price. The dealer can give you a great price on anything then screw you by adding money back in other stuff.

Some rentals are abused (rode hard) to see if they can take it. I know I would never buy a rental car let alone a rental bike. Too much unknowns with abuse, proper maintenance, etc. Just my 2 cents.
