Default Slim/Blackline Rear Fender Compatibility?

Does anyone know if the rear fenders from Slims/Blacklines are compatible with pre-200mm softail models? I have an 02 Night Train and really like the bobbed fender, but dont want to do a full conversion yet. I eyeballed it at the dealer and the slim seems to have the same width rear fender as mine...but I know there is a lot more going on than that.

The fender width should be fine, but I doubt the holes in the struts will line up. You should be able to use the struts from the Slim/Blackline, and then it will all bolt on.

I was looking at the Slim this week as well. I was hoping someone had tried this and found out if it worked. Mine is my 2005 night train. I don't want to drop the coins to go the Heartland route and I like my Lepera seat and hate to buy another.

Just got an email back from Lepera, they said the seat off a standard pre 2006 softail will not fit the blackline/slim (I already knew that), but they never said the seat would not still work if I only changed to the blackline fender. I just guess I need to do this over the winter and find out.

Well yeah, it will fit with the blackline/slim fender strut covers. However, will the fender horns still work, as they end less than halfway along the fender? I know heartland and the rsd tracker fenders require cutting the horns. Are all softail fender horns the same?

Fender horns? I'm not sure what a fender horn is. The struts bolt to the frame with 2 bolts on the side under the seat. If you remove these and replace them with the ones from a Slim/Blackline the holes in them will line up to mount the fender. There are no covers on them.

those are the "covers" If you unbolt those on older softail models (not sure about current ones), it will expose the "fender horns" which are the actual support for riding 2-up, etc.

The second picture of the original post shows the "fender horns"

Ahhh, On the Blackline/Slim those do not exist. The strut bolts to the frame and supports the fender. It also does not have a cover.
Look at this ebay link.
