I have 2,A Python and D&D Fatcat. I like the look of the Python smaller muffler, but the performance with the D&D won that one. Python is now a wall hanger in the garage with my Big Radius.
Thinking about adding some 2-1's this winter.
so Far my pick's are, in order.
1 Bassini Road Rage ll's newer system.
2 V&h's new Pro pipe, not the older megaphone type.
3 D&D's..
I've never heard of the Drago pipes. They look slick. What do you know about them?
They're designed by Frank Drago, and built by Rush. The head pipe is ceramic coated, inside and out. Makes a huge difference in exhaust temps. There are also interchangeable baffles, depending on your preference. I have the regular 2-1; my bike is the black Heritage featured on his website.
Love the pipe. Service from Frank and Rush have been great.
I have a rush racing products 2-1 with the 2" baffle on 2003 flstfi. I have the chrome version, it is available in black also. The header pipe is ceramic coated, great fitting, has oxygen sensor bungs for both 12mm and 18mm sizes. In comparisons to 4 or 5 of my coworkers bikes who all have similar stage 1 type bolt on's such as air cleaners, programmers and exhaust on other twin cam 88's, 96's and two who have 103's, I walk away from all of them. That being said they all have v&h 2 into 2 type exhaust, except one who has samson 2 into 2 pipes. If you call rush racing products directly, ask for katfish, and he can link you up with a small mom and pop shop that will give you the best price you can find.
Another thought...
You might think about checking into RB Racing. If you have some cash to spend, as they cost a little more than most, and have the patience of Job...as it may take anywhere from 30 to 90 days to receive; they are a quality pipe. I had one on my '99 Superglide Sport. http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/lsr21prostock_spyder.htm
I've had the older ProPipe on my bike for about 5 years and like it a lot.
I did paint the baffle cap black as it looks better that way. At least it does to me. I also have played around with the baffle/packing a bit to get the sound the way I like it. There was a definite improvement in performance when I switched from the Big Shots to the PP.
A friend has the Thunderheader on his Dyna. It sounds good but the welds look like they were made by a drunk monkey.
I had the Thunderheader on my Fat Boy Lo and always hated the look of it. Looked like a high school welding class got bored and welded a funnel to the end of it!
