I have shorts shots on my bike and I have been thinking about getting a 2 into 1 pipe for a while. Anybody have any suggestions? It needs to be available in black. I like the looks of the V&H propipe, and I have always had good luck with their products, does anyone have any input on that pipe? Would be on a 2012 Blackline. Thanks.
I can only comment on the Python 2 into 1. I just took mine off to put my new tru duals on but that Python was the 1st and only 2 into 1 pipe that I have ever liked in my 43 years of riding. If you find a pipe you really like but it doesn't come in black just have it ceramic coated or powder coated in black. Don't pass on a great pipe or a great deal just because it doesn't come in black. My 2nd choice would be a Fatcat 2 into 1 pipe.
I'm also thinking about going with the Propipe. A close second for me is the Rinehart. I'll be a few months from getting mine yet though. Good luck with whatever you decide to go with.
it looks good from every angle except straight down and from the back. the propipe muffler is large and stands off the bike A LOT. it actually looks BAD from those angles.
the sound leaves a bit to be desired as well. the sound as delivered isn't nearly as deep as youd think with a four inch muffler. I cut the baffle plug out and the sound quality improved a bit. I played with the glass mat and wire baffle packing until it sounded ok
I left it on the bike for months but ultimately decided it must go and wound up making my own smaller muffler closer to the frame reusing the VH headers and shields.
I had the ProPipe and it was alright. They make a quality product. It came with the bike but if I had to choose my first choice would be a Thunder Header. Second choice probably D&D.
I've posted this clip a bunch of times. I'm pleased with the Propipe. I would put it in the class of "mellow" pipes along with the Supertrapp Supermeg 2>1. Louder then stock but not deafening.
