Default Headlight upgrade for 2012 Fatboy lo

Just completed a quick headlight mod to my bike. I replaced the stock HD headlight and bulb with a Bosch 7 inch e-code headlight and a standard German h4 55/60 watt bulb. The total cost through Bus Depot was about $42 with two bulbs and shipping (if you call them, they will sell you one headlight). This headlight is a projector type (ridges in the front lens) versus the reflector design (clear smooth front lens) of the stock HD. Also, the headlight is all metal (reflector) and glass (lens); not plastic, like the HD. It fit perfectly into the HD headlight can. I did this mod to try and get as much performance out of a standard H4 bulb as I could. The results are a very defined cut off in low beam and a super bright focused high beam. I mean the high beam reminds me of looking into a hid conversion headlight! It is BRIGHT! I ride with my high beam in the daytime for DRL visibility. This may be too bright, though, and I may have to adjust alignment a little bit more downward and to the right. I will find out when I'm riding around town this week. I'm very pleased with the upgrade. I started this project after seeing my headlight high beam in the daytime from about 40 feet in front of the bike. It was pitiful. I felt like it was virtually worthless for DRL. A side benefit of this upgrade was the old school sealed headlight look of this Bosch headlight. I used to like the clear crystal look, but this new "old school" look is really cool. It definitely goes with the Fatboy style. I highly recommend this upgrade if you want to maximize your H4 performance. You may find this is all you need in a headlight upgrade instead of going LED or HID.
