Pulled between solo/pass. seat and luggage! Need help!
OK here is the problem, I got an 06 Softail Standard with the factory seat (uncomfortable.) I LOVE the looks of a nice solo seat but then the g/f says she refuses to ride on the fender!! LOL! So anybody got any ideas so far?Arethere any seats that have a removable pass. part that still is half way comfortable for her and me as far as that goes??All say (except 06/07 FXST)
Ok let me throw a kink into this now. She also wants a sissybar with a small back rest on it....which is fine. That is available through HD (any ideas for cheaper parts?) Needs to be the quick detach kind. I also want to be able to haul some "luggage" like a HD SAC touring bag or even the small roll one.
Here is my ideal setup. I would like a seat that has a removeable passenger pad that is comfy. Then when I take the pass. seat off I would like to have a luggage rack that I can mount in its place to act as the base for my luggage stuff that is connected to the quick detach sissy bar. Any ideas, please share them.

I'm doing the same set up as you, I've found the Mustang vintagesolo with a passenger pad seems to be the cats ***. As far asthe back rest, depends on your tire size, the after market hasn'tcaught up with the 200mm tire yet.

There are lots of options for seats with a removalable passenger pillon. Just read the descriptions of the seats you are interested in. But if $$$ aren't the issue I like the option of two seats... one solo and one two-up of your choice. Swapping seats is a cinch and often quicker and easier then removing a passenger pillon. Plus you won't have to compromise and can get the best seat suited for whichever type of riding you plan on doing. Just a thought!

I like Coaster's second recomendation... Find the solo seat you like and a two-up seat you like.... But be careful with the paint on the fender... I put a larger passenger pillion on for my wife and it has rubbed a grove in the paint. I wish I had installed some tape in that area like HD does for the stock set-up!!!

I have a mustang sport solo with passenger seat. When I bought the seat, I bought the pad so I could go solo as well. I have the mid size sissy bar that is quick detach.
I rarely ride 2 up, but when I do, the conversion takes very little time.

I bought my wife her own bike; that seemed to work out pretty good. Otherwise, the 2-seat option that Coaster mentioned is a good choice. That's what I did before I got bike #2.

Dave, I just figured out what your bike needs. A longer headlight. That would make is SWEEEEET. The bike looks good in the snow, too bad you cant ride. It is 75 beautiful degrees outside herein the LonestarState.
