Default timing springs

My harley dealer suggested i install stronger springs for my 96 softail to cure the pinging caused by oversized, high domed pistons. I bought some at my local parts store ,they said they are simple to install, i looked in my manual and cant seem to find them anywhere on the parts list in that section. I pulled off the timing cover, didnt see them there either. Can anyone please help me with this issue. thanks

Might the dealer have been talking about valve springs? What did you buy at the local parts store?

no, for sure they aren't valve springs he was talking about, caused they mentioned mabey changing over to an electronic ignition and when I purchased the springs for $20 they knew I was talking about the springs so the timing would advance correctly.

Buy a service manual read how to set ign timing start retarding timing 1 degree at a time test riding it until the detonation is gone.
