Nope that is BS and sales strategy from HD, as you can see earlier in this post it is not needed and you can make a braket that replace the tapped hole to bolt the new console on.

Read this thread. The very first post includes ALL of the correct part numbers.
Agreed for a bolt-on swap you need that piece but it is rediculous to buy that part in my opinion, that is a easy fix as shown in the picture. In belgium is that plate stupid expensive as said before.

If u don't wanna start manufacturing your own parts you WILL need the top plate. That's NOT a sales strategy of the MoCo as the Blackline console was never intended to be installed on the Breakout. Suggesting this is major BS, period.

That top plate costs $187,00 in Belgium, you do not have to be a machinist to make a piece of metal with 2 holes in it that is going to set you back $5,00 or so.
A saving of $182,00 is a big difference and a lot more gas to ride the bike But each one make the choise for their own buy it or make it.

Jeremyreed - the new guy asking about the swap - AIN'T BELGIAN.

Jeremy, if you're gonna do the swap, don't Mickey Mouse it. Use all of the correct parts.

I did the swap on my bike. Before swapping out the top plate, I eyeballed the new console over the Breakout top plate. Rigging it to work wasn't worth the effort. The correct top plate is about 80 bucks. Get it.

NSR, I follow your opinion, as said each to his own.

I have time and money but if I can make something work without spending more money then needed I will do so, and I'm not Dutch but Flemish but I just have the time to do so and I own a complete machine shop to.

My parts are on order, if I get them I will post a picture set of the install and Jeremy do as you prefer, 80bucks or 187bucks is a big difference and it save you some time.

For me is time nothing, the only thing I do is drive the bikes that I own or work on them if I'm not on the shooting range

I have been looking for a few hours now and I cannot seem to find these parts. Newcastle has none in stock, per their list. Thunderbike apparently has this stuff but they want (if I am not mistaking) close to 400$ USD for just the console, not including the other parts. Does anybody have any recommendations as to were to turn next?

Boardtracker H-D lists the console. I didn't check each part required for the swap...

I've ordered parts from Surdyke in the past as well, but something is going on with their site this morning.
