Thanks Tony.... I have 14 1.5 Flying apes. I was wondering how difficult the install was because its similar to mine on that part of the bike. Man, if you asked me there is no way I can fit another wire much less the break line and throttle cables. lol. Well.. I know it can be dome so I guess here goes nothing on the winter project. thanks again.

Hey rockinred, I have to be honest. I work swing 12's with a TON of overtime and between my Son and his friends I have about zero tools. I have a buddy 2 blocks down who owns and runs his own shop. He did all the work. I did go down there as much as I could to watch, help, learn, assist and of course some beers and shooting the ****. If and when I get a day off I wanna ride it, not work on it. Don't get me wrong, I would love to wrench on it more but fun time is limited. My buddy both hates me and loves me and when he see's me coming. He wonders what's next! He had only done one Exile internal throttle and that was many years ago. He has only done a few complete internals but that's mostly because few get it done so he's not faced with the opportunity very often.

He really had no trouble with it Dude. Once he laid everything out, figured what had to be cut it's was bang, bang, bang and he was done. I was very impressed with his electrical and wiring skills. When I say that I mean it was a good 8 hour day but I also got a bunch of other stuff too, Ness chrome fork boots, Samsons put on then the bars. I don't know how you wire but if I may suggest....All the tie ins and splices he had to do he staggered them, where he cut and tape them individually. Don't not cut everything in the same place. If you do then you have a bigger ball of tape there all in one spot and when you go to pull them through the bars they plug up or can plug up there where there is everything all done in one place. Am I making that clear, kinda, sorta?? If you don't understand what I'm talking about I can send you a number and you can call me anytime too. Then again you may be a master electrician and I'm sitting here making a fool of myself!!!!

In any case Dude. I have really talked up the SS a lot here but truth be known, Love ya JD, but this set up is really sweet. It came out FAR better then even I thought it would. Had I known apes are this comfortable I would have had them many years and many bikes ago. All internal just really makes it look so clean up there. That and my shocks are a topic of conversation wherever I go. It's really fun. I been riding way over 40 years now and this is the most fun I have had in a very long time. I was getting bored again and that's not a good thing for me. So, I splurged on the bike because finally, I could afford to for once. It all just made it fun again. I'm 56 but at times I felt 26 (and a few times 96 too). I think you'll enjoy it. Your bars are the same as mine just turned so you should have no problem. The hydraulic clutch, to me, is so smooth. The Exile internal throttle? It just rolls on and off so nicely too.

Keep me posted Dude, you need a number? Holler and I will fire it off to you.

Hey, I just remembered and I don't know where he got it but the hydraulic lines he used for the brake and the clutch was very thin. It was very stout but thin. If you need that information let me know and I will call him. Also, if that bike is yours in that picture, it's a nice bike and it will look even MORE sweet with all internals.

Hey Benway, I hear you Brother. Trust me, after hitting that Deer lights are at the very top of my winter mod list this year. As far as cars seeing, or not seeing me? I really don't have allot of that around here. If I go 1 or 2 miles in any direction I am out in the country. Of course I want to be seen no matter how little I am in traffic but since I have gone to this slimmed down look up front I want to look in that direction first. If I can't get it to where I am satisfied then the light bar goes back on and I pursue it in that direction. I would really like to have some range out in front of me too. Had I been able to see that Deer further out there MAYBE I could have reacted or missed him.

Tbone... thanks for the detailed input on my question. I hear ya... I've done about a dozen bars only and every time I have a killer time pulling through. I just don't do it enough to make it easy. Thanks for the input... I think I am going to tackle this in a month. So as soon as I do, i'll post some pics up with the finish. Damn... wish I did it from the get go, but hell it's never too late. Thanks for the number, but I think i got it brother.

Once again... excellent looking scoot. I remember when you were contemplating the apes a while back on here and since then with SS shock and the mods you have done, it set it off to the next level. Glad you jumped on it and did it up right... As far as apes, I haven't ridden without apes on regular basis for the past 13 years. Anyhow, thanks again.
