Well the exhaust debate beats on . Today I've been thinking of the power. Difference between slip ons and a 2:1 system. I've got a 2013 slim with Rush slipons containing 2.0 baffles. I'm contemplating a Frank Drago 2:1 dragula or SCS . I have just received my DK Customs 587 intake and plan on a SE super tuner and dyno job since my dealer is running that special.
My 2 concerns are of course power and sound. I think the rush slips sound really good but being a prior victory owner the power isn't even in the same league. Vegas 8ball. Here's my question... what kind of power difference will I be looking at by leaving on the slip ons AND if anyone has any Drago experience how much louder will his pipe be. I'd love just a bit more noise. I've seen YouTube videos but you can't judge by any means. Guys say the VH pro pipe Is loud but seems kind of timid to me. I guess I need to call frank as well to explain the differences between the two pipes to me. If anyone in NJ has a Drago on a softail I'd love to hear it. And if any of you all know Frank get him to chime in since he's a member here. Fire away
I have no experience with that pipe. I have an 06 Deluxe that was born with the 88. Now it has allot of work on the motor and I ran the Python 2 in to 1 when I 1st had the bike. I put the 39" Samson cholos with the removable baffles on it this spring. I could tell instantly it dropped off the very 1st time I rode it with the new pipes. I have yet to have it re Dynod yet because I am waiting for something else but I don't need to have a dyno to tell me that. I just don't know how much yet. It's not drastic but it is noticeable. It's not like it's a dog but to be honest? I'm an old fart and I pretty much just cruise.

I had Rush slip-ons w/2" baffles on my stage-2 2005 Deluxe. Sounded good, but not enough back pressure...so I lost low-mid range power and torque. Ended up replacing them with Supertrapp Supermeg 2-1 and after some tuning with the replaceable baffle plates it runs much stronger.
I haven't used the Dragula 2-1, but have read good things about them. I think you'll be much happier with a good 2-1.
My first Stage One I had KhromeWerks slip ons on a shotgun headpipe.. It made a wonderful deep hotrod sound. Then went to Vance and Hines Big Radius 2-into-1 which had deep tone but all the potato-potato sound was GONE.
Bike made an insignificant increase in power with the 2-into-1 but now I had the loudest Decel Pops ever registered on the planet. Honestly thought I would spit out a valve. And at cruising speeds it sounded boring like a Honda.
Tossed the pipe in the garbage and went for True Dual Staggereds from Khrome Werks. These had that wonderful musical DEEP hot rod sound. My bike now went potato-potato in STEREO and sounded meaner than any Sportster I ever owned. It is the BEST sound ever.
Looks great. NO Decel Pops. Making great power and a teeny bit more top end now.
First off, that's a great looking Slim. Second, in order to get similar power out of your HD compared to your Victory Vegas, you'll have to spend thousands in motor upgrades (i.e. cams, big bore kit, etc.) Simply changing the pipes, air intake and getting a tuner won't get you where you want to be.

Thanks bro , I feel the overall quality of the bike is superior to the Victory and with the little add ons I've done its really nice to have a bike guys check out and talk about. That said I've thought about a can job to bring it up a little but now your talking $2g or so. It would have to be a Harley cam since I have a 4 yr warranty but we'll see. I'm a trained BMW tech in my previous career but I'm not sure if I want to do the can job myself

I agree that Harley quality is superior to Victory. The fit, finish, paint and cable management on the Victory bikes could definitely use some improvement. That being said, the 106 motor on the Victory simply makes a lot more top end power and is much cheaper to upgrade with drop in cams compared to the Harley 103.
I've had my stg1 and cammed 96''er since new in 07. she had the first set of Rush 2''ers our dealer installed at my 1k service.
Just last summer. (12), I asked our master wrench and dyno tuner, if what the parts guys were telling me was true;
They claimed That I'd get 10+ more TQ and HP with V&H's newer 2-1 PP than what I am getting now with the Rush 2''ers.
The answer I got from him was maybe 3 but no more then 5 more TQ and HP at best.
IMO, Cost of New Pipes, install, and Dyno would be near $1K. That $333.00 per HP and TQ not very good in my book nor would most butt dyno's even tell a diff.
He did say Maybe a little more than 3-5 in the 2k-3k range????.
Anyway I still have and love the Rush I've had since 1k miles.
A less expensive alternative to getting more low and mid range power out of pipes is to use the Thunder Torque Inserts. Most slip-ons and full exhaust systems will see a 6%-10% increase in torque in the low and mid range for under $25.00.
Even some of the expensive 2-1 exhaust systems see as much as a 7% increase using the TTI's.
