Insurance on a Harley is next to nothing. It gets even less when you have two bikes insured. Get full coverage. It is a no brainer. You will feel really stupid if you do some minor thing that causes many thousands of dollars of damage.
I pay 323 a year for full coverage on my 2006 Softail Deluxe/ $500 deductible and $3000 worth of accessories. I have a reckless driving ticket on my record and another bike on the policy.
WOW!! Where do you live?? I've been shopping around for weeks, since finalizing the deal on my Fat Boy, and the best I can find is $727 a year, w/$1000 ded. (My current insurance company wanted $1200, with a $2600 ded!!!) I wish I lived near you, if you can insure two bikes for that price!!
No lien on my new Fat Boy...but wouldn't want to depend on the cager that pulls out in front of me to cover my damages. There are way too many drivers in Florida without any insurance coverage! I carry 'Full Coverage' with Progressive (Nationwide, my auto insurance company will not touch my HD in Florida...) and it now runs $708.00/year. When I opted for the 'unstacked' my policy dropped $247.08/year (down to the $708.00/year). My agent stated that since I only had one vehicle insured on this policy that 'stacked' was throwing money out the window, but the State of Florida requires me to state in writing that I DO NOTwant stacked uninsured motorist coverage! This policy includes $6,500.00 additional coverage in accessories, plus the $1,000.00 in accessories that the base policy provides, and $500.00 deductibles.
