I haven't taken the windshield off to see what happens, but my previous bikes the windshield never was an issue. There may be a little more weight in one bag, but not a lot where it would alter the ride. I did put fork mounted fangs on, but that seems to help with wind buffeting on me, but not sure about the bike itself.
Like I said, the spokes, nuts, air pressure seem fine.
I'm going to take it in and let the hd tech drive it. I just had it serviced recently, and no issues then.
I appreciate the comments.

I have an Ultra and a Heritage. I understand what the OP is saying. The Heritage is a very solid bike on the highway, but compared to an Ultra it does seem to get pushed around by the wind and road irregularities more. I just put it off to the bike being much lighter and having thinner tires.

My ride before my Heritage was a touring style bike (not Harley).
I'll have to admit the ride on my Heritage does seem to be a bit more unstable compared to the touring bike. Of course the touring bike was more aerodynamically designed.

That being said, I feel the difference primarily when there's wind involved or as mentioned the road surface is grooved. When everything is stable, the bike is stable. However I'm now used to the Heritage so perhaps I just don't notice the difference now.

I think perhaps you may be experiencing the difference between a touring bike and a cruiser. The only way to figure out if there is a problem is to let someone who knows the Heritage ride test ride yours.

I ride 99% with the windshield, fangs, and stuff in my bags.

Ditto. The weight difference, the rake, the aerodynamics and a smaller tire contact patch all play in to the feeling a little less stable going down the highway at speed.

Have it checked out, but I bet part of it ends up being retraining your rear end to the feel of the new seat going down the road!

Enjoy your new ride! The Heritage really is the best ALL AROUND bike Harley has ever made!

Oh, and if you are riding 2 up more than 50% of the time, put a shotgun shock on it NOW. It's kinda pricey until you ride with it. It's the best money I EVER spent on my Heritage. Period.

U will get more wind buffering (which I think is what Ur feeling) on a bike with a Shield Vs a Batwing and Lowers. Both a Heritage and Road King will do it.
There's been Hundreds, if not Thousands of Threads about the buffering and it fixes.

Contrary to what some people think, the height of the shield has VERY little to do with it. I've cut mine down twice and it hasn't made much if any difference at all.

The buffering is caused by the air coming up from below the Shield.
To test and prove the theory, put one of Ur hands midway in front of Ur belly while riding. U'll feel the air pushing/forcing Ur hand UP.

As far as side movement, The stronger the sidewinds blows, the more U'll feel it

On a Softail, the best reported mod we can make to our bike to help resolve it is the "FANGS" that mount on the front Forks

Here a pic of them

The touring bikes can also add a piece to the lower triple tree that helps there buffering even more.
Son put one on this Street glide this summer. It really helped the buffering on his bike.

Also check Ur spokes for any loose ones.. there have been several reports in here of new bikes with loose spokes that the dealer didn't catch or even check. Also might check fall away and wheel bearing.

Hope this helps Ya.

This is the difference between frame mounted fairings and fork mounted windshields.

The only Harley with a frame mounted fairing is the Road Glide and they stopped making it for 2014.
