I just had my BCM replaced under warranty. That fixed the speedometer problem I was having but after a couple of weeks I noticed my security is not working. I can now start the bike without the key or the code.
Is this something I can set myself or am I headed back to the dealer?
When I had my security installed on a '12 Dyna last year they removed the stock BCM and replaced it with a new one that enabled the security functions.
This year I had security installed on a '13 Slim - and I really don't know if they replaced the BCM this time, or if it was just a re-program of some kind.
So it sounds as though they either installed another "stock" unit, or they didn't re-program it...
Now that I think about it I believe they did replace the BCM on the Slim as well.
The reason I say that is because when I got it back from the dealer my rear brake lights weren't working.
The BCM must have come from the factory with that functioned disabled, as most bikes do not use the rear turns as brake lights as the Slim does.
They had to switch it back on in the shop. Took them 5 minutes.
