I was able to keep the visor wide open without a problem.
Cool. I may give the LRS a try. For about $100, that's not too bad to experiment with .... being that I only paid $200 for the HD shield I got off eBay.

Trying different shields in order to HOPE to find one that works can be an expensive proposition. Ugh.

I just installed the LRS 18" Heritage "B" windshield with the recurve. I rode 250 miles last weekend and can attest to the recurve performing similar to the 18 year old HD King Size shield that it replaced (it was scratched and cracked) . James at LRS sold the shield to me for less that a Ben Franklin including shipping. No buffeting, no bugs on my sunglasses ... I'll be switching to the 3/4 helmet soon just to keep the smile from freezing.
Call LRS and speak to James, he won't disappoint you

How tall are you? Also, do you look through the shield or just over it? I'm wondering if I should go with a taller shield, like an 18". With the stock HD compact shield (it is 16" over the headlight), I look just over it so I would say it is about mouth or nose height. The wind hits me right on the top of my helmet.

I'm 5'7" and I'm just looking over the 16" LRS.

I had a Switchback last year that came with the standard 18" screen and I was looking over that just fine, but on the Slim the top was right in my line of sight - different seat heights. The 16" LRS is now perfect.
Since you have a Shotgun, you can always use that to tweak your view over the top too.

As was mentioned here, definitely check out the dealer's windshield "gauge". It's just a tall screen with all the various heights marked on it.
And by all means call LRS - they'll fix you up with whatever shield you need to go with your hardware.
Also keep an eye out for their sales - they're almost always running 40-50% off incentives...

Cool. Yea, right now it looks like the LRS is $109, which isn't too bad at all. I will call them to order though because I want to make sure I get the right shield for my hardware. Now just debating on whether to go with a 16" or 18" over the headlight height.

I don't see one but I thought the Heritage hardware and holes were the same as the ones for the FX shields? I'm going to call them just to make sure but that's gonna suck if they don't make one!

My worry is that the Heritage has a different front end but if it has the same shield we are good. You would thing they would include the FXST if it did.
