I have a tinted 21'' Clearview shield with upper recurve & has 3 inch additional width. I really like it, no buffeting however with the 21'' height I sometimes am looking through the shield which I don't find bothersome.

I have the nostalgic hardware and didn't see a fit on their website so this is good to know. I would be curious about the outcome.

Even the "WindJammer/Vetter" fairings we used back in the 70's and 80's had an option of shield with Two round vents probably 4'' dia or so. to help with the buffering.

heres a pic of them.

I can't handle it any longer... its buffeTing, not buffeRing. You're the only person I see calling it buffering so I just have to point it out. Lol

Good info though. I guess I'll see how the new LRS 16" curved shield does and then go from there.

LRS or KlockWerks Billboard work the best in my experience. KW is a bit more expensive but I like the flow better.

Question for you guys... when you changed your windshield, do you have to actually take off the windshield hardware off the stock shield? I have taken apart the mounting hardware... the brackets that attach to the windshield and then to the bike but the cross pieces that are on the shield are stuck on with double sided tape. Do I have to take those off too and if so, how in the world do I get them off?!?!? Lol

Yeah I did, but it wasn't stuck on with "double-sided" tape.
The material was only stuck to the hardware, although I did sort of have to gently peel it away from the shield...

Interesting, maybe mine isn't on with double sided tape after all. I looked closely again and maybe it is just stuck like yours. Did you wedge it off with something or just pull it back with your hands? I definetly won't be angle to pull it apart with just my hands. I'm thinking if I use something plastic to pry it apart would be best.

Most stock harley shields did use a thin double sided tape adhesive between the plastic and the metal frame. When you take the hardware out, you may get lucky and the adhesive isn't sticky any longer, but in most cases, it is still stuck pretty well. The best thing to do from my experience is to heat it up slightly with a heat gun or a hair dryer. Not long enough to warp the plastic, but enough to where the metal feels warm to the touch. Then you can get your finger under a corner of it or use a gasket scraper or a thin screwdriver and wedge it under the frame. The heat releases the adhesive enough that you should be able to pull it apart by hand. Just be careful not to crack the plastic. I've done windshield swaps many times and find that this works best.

Hope this helps.

been searching the internet but damned if I can find it. There was a vest that had flaps to divert the wind. There was even a video of the guy riding without a shield wearing a baseball cap.......I'll keep looking.
