A lot of riders THINK that the buffering is caused by air coming over the shield.

It's not, its caused by the Negative air pressure made by the shield and comes up from below the shield.

A taller or shorter shield will make very little difference on buffering.

Two things I've found that helps if Ur Helmet is shaking that will help
1. believe it or not.. Usually it can be helped by getting a proper size helmet. A helmet that's a little too big will shake and move on Ur head while a proper snug fitting helmet wont.
I read this couple yrs ago and when I replace my lid with a snugger (proper fitting one) 99% of my head shake disappeared. The bigger helmet shook so much my vision was even blurred and I'd get a headache after a short time.

Dont know if the Fangs will fit/work on Ur bike, but many have reported that they are about the best mod that makes a big diff.. might check into them.

Pushing a barn door down the road is pretty much going to guarantee turbulence behind it. The choices will be between what kind of turbulence you are most comfortable with, and where it hits you.

Until I find something better, my personal choice is a full helmet, and no windshield.

..which according to my dealer is why you see the new vented fairings on a lot of the '14's - it's supposed to alleviate that "dead spot" behind the shield...

Good point. If I decide to get the LRS shield I might drill some holes in my old shield to see if it has a positive affect on buffeting.

I thought about doing the same thing. I have a shield that I am trying to sell on ebay that I bought a little while ago but its not selling. I'm only asking $50 for it anyway. Its too tall, I look through it instead of over it and the mounting hardware could only be used without the clamps. The hardware would have to stay on the bike which is butt ugly. LOL

So I thought about taking off the hardware on the new shield, then cutting down the larger shield or putting some holes in it to see if it helps. Better to experiment on a $50 used shield than the almost new looking one.

Emailed with James from LongRide Shields back and forth and they have a shield that fits. He said its call their Dyna "B" Shield.

I bought a 16" recurve with a light tint. I'll post back with the results once I get it on and have a chance to ride with it.

I have a 21" Memphis Shade on my bike and have to look thru the plastic. But it works great for the few times I use it in cooler weather. I don't really care for the looks of it however.
