I never realized that you could just change the bulb and see such a difference. I was talking to a friend about headlights and he said he just replace his stock 60/55W with a 100/90W, which is an "Offroad" light that is "illegal" (yea, whatever).
So has anyone else done this or am I late to the party? Lol I was thinking of getting the new Day maker but I couldn't bring myself to spend $400 for a light. And now, no need to, the new H4 made a huge difference.
::::::::: UPDATE :::::::::::
I went to NAPA and bought a Halogen H4 100/80 bulb that is like the stock bulb color. I like it better than the 100/90 blue one. Its a preference thing.... I like the natural light look better and its plenty bright, much brighter than stock-

Where do you find them? I'm running the Osram NightBreaker 60/55w in an Adjure light and love it, but as always, if something better comes along I'll try it. I think I've seen in here where those lights get hot and can create problems, but I can't say for sure.

I got mine from my friend and he said he has been running them for years with no issues.He said he gets them at NAPA but I found them on eBay also though. Now you got me scared. Lol Hopefully someone around here has ran them with no problems also.
Been running that bulb for eight years now with zero problems. I DID change out the "lens" to a flat faced Cibie glass crystal HCR flat face type. http://www.talbotco.com/e-code_lamps.htm
Why? Because the optical clarity on Harley lenses is not clear enough or sharp enough on the cut off to work well with a flamethrower like this one. You definitely do NOT want to hit folks in the eyes with it on low beam when you get real close.
Plus I was afraid I might melt the cheap Harley housing. Cibie is crystal glass and lasts many years.

Can you post a link to what those Cibie lens looks like and where you bought it? Sounds like a great option!
Duh....I see the link to the lens now...not sure how I missed it. Ha! Thanks!

A guy in another forum I frequent installed a H4 9003 Ceramic Wire Wiring Harness adapter purchased on eBay. Said the extra heat from the higher wattage bulb started to toast his harness.
Haven't made the switch yet so not sure it's really necessary. This one looks good since it's simply plug-and-play. Amazon has something like it except you actually cut out the original and splice in the new one. Me...I like simple plugs.

Just my 2 cents worth :-)
That's looks very interesting. Would be very easy to do, that's for sure.
I'm not sure if I could get that behind my lamp though in the 5-3/4" bucket.
