Does the 1.5" tank lift really help?

Just took a picture (before the blizzard), with the bike slammed I loose 1/3rd of the tank use. At ride height I might loose 1/4 of the tank. But I don't run it down to fumes. And I can always raise it to stock to get to the gas station.
