you could try buffing it out ..only have time to loose. The worst thing is you will have to buy a new shield

 

It was like a thin plastic tint on my first shield, but it was part of it and on the front. There was a couple pieces of tape on shield and when I pulled it off, off came tint. My second shield is clear and a whole lot less noticeable on the bike.. When you think about shield should be correct when you look over it, having a tinted shield is sort of silly.

 

Windshields!,, we don't need no stinking windshields.

 

I've had three over the years, one of them I was able to remove the film using a pressure washer, then sanding out the scratches and then buffing it with rubbing compound.
The other one I could not get the film off and I tried everything, including alcohol and acetone, (not at the same time.)
They are lexan and can be buffed with pretty good results, if you can get the film off.

 

If you got from 1994 to 2014 out of one windscreen, we should be asking you what you used to make it last so long.
