Just found this on ebay. 26" wheel on a Breakout. Don't know if I am allowed to put a ebay link here. It's not mine. (Mods, if it needs to be deleted please do). http://www.ebay.com/itm/Harley-David...m=121786969431

Worrying about difference brand and tread on front versus rear may be a little over the top when many Harley models come from the factory with entirely different WHEELS front and rear!

And, looks of tires MIGHT be important, but performance certainly is MORE important!

Bro, to each his own, its you that has to live with the different tread patterns not me. Now I do understand why you didn't use a Diablo, thanks for that clarification.

Yes the bikes that they made with a spoked front and solid rear come to mind, not my cup of tea but some may love them and that's the beauty of it.

In Europe e.g. it's not permitted by the technical certification authorities to run different brand/type(or tread pattern) on front and rear. There must be a reason

And as far as I know (at least in Germany) the Pirelli Diablo is not cleared by the manufacturer to be used on the Breakout...there must be a reason for that as well

Yep, the Softail owners manual also WARNS against using tires other than specified by HD.

So which tyres are "approved" by HD then?

Sounds more like "buy our tyres"/cya to me.
