Hello, Breakout brethren and fellow riders in general.
As has happened to others, my ignition switch **** fell off. I never applied loctite to the set screw. Unfortunately I never thought to or knew it would be an issue til after the fact. Guess I took for granted that some engineer or QC would have the foresight to have addressed such a simple thing or that assembly personnel would adhere this piece after numerous ones were lost prior to mine. (To stop selling this piece standalone too?) Wish I had seen the comments and threads before and I certainly would have gotten to the loctite.
I have seen that members previously have mentioned crafting themselves versions of this piece via CNC, lathe, mill, forging, or even a 3D print and I’d like to possibly buy one. Some of the solutions that members made up look better than the original, in fact.
Alternatively, someone could hook a fellow rider up with the schematic/file. Through a couple friends I can probably get someone to CNC or print. I’m also open to other guidance.
Hi
I have a 2017 Breakout with original tyres on it. They need replacing. Anyone have a suggestion for the best tyre options for my bike?
I have a 2016 with Metz ME888 on it, great tires, go with a 260 for the rear and it will improve handling. Did the same on my FLFB ( Fat Boy ) but took the Metz Cruisetec for this one, both are handling very well.

Here’s my latest changes. I pulled the trigger on a thunderbike air ride springer front end. With that, I elected to change to a DNA monster fat apes. Still awaiting new brake and throttle lines. Hindsight I will never buy a front end from them again. Turn around was ridiculous and the support was nonexistent. They accurate on their website this fits a breakout or rocker, but that’s misleading at best. But I’m hoping my attitude will change down the road.
