Default Wife's new Deluxe - exhaust question

Just traded the wife's FXD for a 2013 Deluxe a couple of weeks ago. Question for the softail gang - we had V&H short shots on her FXD, then V&H slips on's for awhile - both were pretty loud - her new job has her working at a retirement community so she needs to go a little quieter than those, but would like a "little" more sound than stock (mainly to hear it at highway speeds over the wind and traffic) - what has everyone had success with? Thanks in advance for input!

Before these Samson's I ran a 2 into 1 Python pipe. It had great performance and a very nice sound, not intrusive.

If you want just a little above stock try to find some screamin eagle slip ons.

I have V&H straight shot slip ons with quiet baffles. Sounds good but I have some decel pop. Plan to install a better A/C and a tuner this winter.

Rush slip-ons with the 1.75" or 2" baffles are a much deeper sound, still a nice volume though.

You can also get a bit deeper sound out of any pipe by installing some Thunder Torque Inserts....plus you'll get a bump in low and mid range power.

Or send your stock cans to American Custom Exhaust; then you'll have three choices to make them sound like you want 'em...

My Rush 2" slip ons are loud but not insanely so. Though I did set off a car alarm today in the street. 1.75" might be better for her. I think on Rush's website you can hear some video of each of their slip ons.

I agree. They are a bit louder, but not too crazy.

Thanks for the input - I'll do some surfing with the suggestions and see what seems to be the best sound.

**do the Softails have the cat's in the mufflers like the Dynas? Assuming the SE slip on's would still have the cat's, hence quieter than aftermarket options?
