Default Adjusting Softail Shocks at home ---doable?
Anyone do it themselves ? I'd like to experiment more with stiffer setting, however can't afford the shop bills.

Do you have a lift that can get the rear tire off the ground?

No , but for 100 clams a buddy will sell me his. Been tapped out from Christmas.

Never used a lift to do mine. But you need the shock wrench.

No lift needed, it only takes about 5-10 minutes. No way you should take it to a shop to get done.

yes, my Fatboy is set to max .
gives it a little more ground clearance, no more scraping of floorboards.
also don't have to mess with them when I load it up for a trip.

I weigh about 180 , never ride 2 up ( single seat on all of my bikes) and it rides fine ,never have bottomed out

Yeah, that's what I'm looking for ! The ride is not to brutal ? How about rear wheel hop in corners? I'm 200lbs before leather jacket, boots, and helmet.

How long in the saddle before stopping ?
