I am looking now and it seems there are some that have interchangeable ends... removeable fishtails. Wonder if I could swap ends on a whim. That would be cool.

Why on Samson's site under the muffler section some are called mufflers and some are called slip-ons? What's the difference - the pics all look the same.

Right now I have 28" mufflers. I'm trying to find a pic of a Deluxe with hard bags and fishtails so I can see if the 33" fishtails will clear the bags. Really difficult to tell. Yeah I know, go home and measure. But it's a slow day at work and I have time to putz around the internet today. My initial thoughts are the 33" may not clear the bags. But 36"? wow that's long.

Fishtails for sure, for sure... (valley girl speak)
36" is only three inches longer than the 33". Now if you want to project some attitude get the 48" Cholos/Fishtails...

On another note: How is it going on the heat issue from the cross over pipe did you get a fix yet?

Everyone sez fishtails and I like the look now. Just called my mechanic and he was screaming at me not to do fishtails. LOL everyone has an opinion that's why I'm asking.

I think he just doesn't want to cut his head when working on my bike on a lift

The heat issue was resolved by a custom Captain Itch leather heat shield. Rarely do I feel the heat on my left thigh now and when I do, it's for the most part quite bearable.

OK I really wanted the straight edge pipes but they will only be 2" longer than the ones I have now. One of my purposes is to have the pipes longer than the bags. Right now they end before the bags end.

So that means it will be fishtails. 33" will do it. But I'm concerned that where the fishtail goes up - will it clear the bags? I have no way of knowing, unless I get the measurement of the fishtails.

I guess I can write Samson. If anyone has Samson fishtails with Harley hard bags let me know.
