i want to move my turnsignals from the handlebars on my 05 fatboy. i want to fit them to the side of the fork. has anyone done this. i cant find any kits for fatboy execpt for ones with a bar under headlight. i may try to make my own... any help will be appericated
I relocated mine to my forks when I put on my short bars. The kit came from Harley. I'm actually taking them off right now. If you think they'd fit on yours, I'll sell 'em to you.
From my personal experience, don't splice the wires. Get new lamps (they come assembled w/ 36" leads). Splices are open invitations to shorts and water leaks.
I know that most riders don't like the lollipop lights on the bars, but pull up to a flat surface (a garage door), and you will notice that the lights on the bars are noticable. The lights on the forks can be drowned out by the headlamp.
Is this the look you're after?
If so it's easy to do.The bolt on the forks and the stock turn signal is the same size Just get a piece of all thread that matchesandcouple of chrome spacers.Screw the all thread into the forks, put the spacer on there then screw on the turn signal on.Use some loctite, solder the wires back together and you're good to go.
