Default La Pera Maverick or C&C Sport Tour for Deluxe

My Fellow Riders,

I have finally reached to the conclusion that my Deluxe stock seat has to go. This is due to the seating position it puts me in, as well as, the low-back pain i get after almost every ride. I'm 6'2/210lb.

Going over the various threads and posts about this, i'm now to decide between:
1. La Pera's Maverick "Daddy Long Legs", and
2. C&C's Sport Tour.

My requirements are quite simple, i need a seat that pushes me backward (around 2") while still delivering comfortable seating experience during long rides.

Please help me by sharing your experience with and thoughts about these 2 seats.

Thank you,
-AM

Whil I don't have that particular C&C seat, I can tell you my C&C solo seat is very well made and very comfortable. I had them do some custom work on it and it came out great. They are a pleasure to work with.

I have the C&C solo as well. Love the seat. Have never had any discomfort and have ridden many 8 hour days. If you ride long days, I would highly recommend the detachable backrest. Its a life saver. Not sure if the model you are looking at has an available backrest or not. Talk to the guys at C&C and they can adjust the padding on any of their seats to move you back where you want to be. And don't forget to tell them you are a forum member so they will give you a discount

Yes I second the backrest part. I have it too (not pictured) and it's great.

C&C seats are great, it fixed my lower back pain when riding. Also, for at least the solo, It will put you lower and further back then the stock seat

Never hear anything bad about C&C seats, never tried one myself though so I can't comment on them. I do have a Maverick on my sporty and it is a great seat. I can ride in that thing all day long and it gives great lower back support. It is a firm seat though so if you prefer a soft cushy seat it might not be for you.

Another option to consider is mean city cycles. I had no problem with the comfort of my stock deluxe seat, but the position had me feeling like i was on top of the tank. I sent it to mean city with instructions to push me back a few inches, while maintaining the stock height. They also give you the option to add memory foam (which I did) or gel inserts. I'll be receiving my seat tomorrow, so I'll be able to test out my new riding position. As for long distance comfort, I won't be able to comment until riding weather rolls around in a couple more months.

Thanks for the feedback. It's good to know the solo is comfortable, given its low and thin profile. This may indicate that the Sport Tour is comfortable as well. The Sport Tour seat of C&C can be ordered with detachable backrest. I may get it too.

What concerned me is that C&C advised that their Solo & Tour seats allow you to ride a bit Lower than stocker, but not backward. I asked if they can do something about that, and I still await their response.

Should I get the response I'm looking for, I will pull the trigger right away.

You got some nice seat. I plan to get my seat in leather with red diamond stitching. Should go very well with my red deluxe.

Read some good things about the Mavericks. Best thing is that they offer the "Daddy Long legs" version which pushes the rider couple of inches back.
