I'm glad I could help. Good luck with the rest of the build. Those copper spokes are gonna look sick. What other copper accents are you doing?

Also having the Oil lines and Pushrod tube done in copper. Should be no chrome on the bike just a black and copper color combo. Not going over board with the copper, just like chrome, I think it should be accent color not a secondary one. Unfortunately with the snow storm we are expecting no one is open to get any electroplating quotes!

I'm very interested in seeing this copper mixed in with the black instead of chrome

So I get home from work today and there is a box from Bitchin Seats in the entry way. I was hoping it was a Bitchin Seat, instead I got a Bitchin seat pan. I called them and told them I needed the seat to figure out where to place the ECM before I can get the fender painted. Since the Seat is no where near complete, still two weeks out, they offered to send me a pan for the RSD style fender so I can place the ECM and they can continue on the seat. Option two was they send me the unfinished seat, I get the ECM placed and send it back for them to finish. I chose the first option, glad they worked with me and it surprised me that he offered to send me a pan with no deposit I just had a new shipping charge, seemed fair to me.

So here is the seat pan placed on the bike. It is for a different tank than the stock one we are using so wasn't able to set the tank to get a look of what is to come but that wasn't the plan any ways.

I traced out the outline of the seat pan to the fender and then measured the offset of the square relief made into the pan and transferred the measurements to the fender to get an idea of where the ECM needs to be placed. I used a piece of string to get a cross measurement the folded it in half to find center of the fender. once I had center and the outline of the pan marked I picked easy references to measure and transfer. Once I had the square marked out I measured the mounting hole spacing on the ECM and transfered those into the square on the fender. I tried to place the ECM where there was little stess on the wire. HD didn't give me much slack in the wires so it didn't have a lot of options for placement. once the holes were marked I drilled them out and test fit the ECM

It does fit under the seat pan but I need to cut the mounting section out of the fender and weld in a small flat spot for the ECM to sit on. It doesn't like the curved surface, it may work without the flat spot but I see it working loose if I don't mount it flat. So tomorrow hopefully I can get it cut out and a new piece welded in. Then the fender will be ready to drop off to the painter. Also in my pic you can see the hole I cut for the tail light wiring. I went a little larger than it needs and wish I would have made it smaller but the seat will cover it and it gives me plenty of room to run a grommet to protect the wires.

Looking forward to seeing the final seat. Hey did Bitchin say they were gonna bill me for the extra shipping cost, or will it be automatic? Doesn't matter either way.
