I ordered a breakout fender LED light from chromeglow and ran into two issues. First it was too long for the RSD tracker fender, Two it only illuminated half of the LED's when conformed to the fender. After some research I found out more how these lights are made

The LED strip is made up of segments of three LEDs. These segments can be cut to length to make the LED light as long as you need it. Here is a pic of one segment

I had a segment that broke at one of the division lines and broke the electrical connection that made the LED only illuminate half of the light. Since I needed it shorter any ways I cut the LED strip into three separate circuits. One section that was 5 segments long (Run and Brake) and two that were 3 segments long (turn signals). To make the brake work as a running light I put two 12V leads to that section, one full voltage and one with a resistor to dim the brake light to work as a running light. The turns are mounted to each side of the brake and operate on its own circuit for each but is in the same tube assembly so the light is one piece, but now i can wire it and have all required lights on the rear of the bike on the tip of the rear fender. I also can do all of this without having to purchase a separate RUN/BRAKE/TURN module.

Here is the brake section illuminated

Here are both turn sections illuminated

I usually loose them and have to replace them before they get that way. Guess I must like this one!

Here is the risers that the kit says is required, I ordered these also since the Street slammer bars (For Sale by the way!) that were on it had built in risers. The risers look like regular 1" risers so I assume those would work and these would not be needed. Also if your going to run taller risers then the steel riser cover would not be able to be used.

Well I can admit when I am wrong. Fork tubes on a night train are 24 1/2" long, fork tubes on a fatboy are 22 7/8" both are 41mm. My fatboy tree kit came with 1.165" fork extenders that replace the stock top caps. With these added to my NT tubes the lower forks stick out from the covers an 1 1/2".

So in my search of a set of 22 7/8" long fork tubes, I found a set of 20 1/4" 41mm tubes.
Fatboy forks + spacer will give me a total length of 24.05" so a 1/2" drop. 20 1/4" tubes + spacers will give me a total fork Length of 21.415", so a 2 1/2" drop.
With the Shotgun Shock, 23" front wheel, and + 4* of rake I am wondering if it will help the stance of the bike if I lower the front 2 1/2" Since I have to buy parts, now would be the time to make that decision.

The -4" tubes (20") will bring that front end down down 4 inches lower than what it was with the NT tubes. On top of that you have a raked front and are going to lower it even more. That's gonna be slammed! I'd personally just go for the -2" forks and go with the drop in lowering kit to bring it down another 2".

Can't wait to see the final masterpiece. Looks great so far.

FYI I just did a similar type of build with my 2009 Night Train with RSD parts, Joker Machine, Shotgun Shock and a Bitchin Seat. I was looking all over the web when I was building mine, trying to see that looks good and what doesn't. Overall I am very happy with everything. The seat is awesome in comfort but a little bit big on the end. The Shotgun Shock is very nice and people always freak out when I drop it down. I hope you enjoy everything as much as I do.... and I'm pretty sure you will.

Stay safe.

well my fork tubes and lower legs came in! I got the fender mounts shaved off and powder coated an on fork leg completed to check fork length andthink i Have that handled.. But I ran into another issue and don't want to repost the thread but here is a link to my wheel shim issue. Please take a look and see if you can offer any insight. I would like to have a bike with wheels installed tomorrow so I can throw up some decent pics. Here is the link to that thread, thanks in advance!
